SHELL STOOL-BOX
A toolbox that is also a rocking stool with built-in drawes. To save the mechanics time and trouble, the drawes open hands-free via a rocking motion. Stool also allows Shell to own floorspace, far away from the clutter of shelves in garage
INEFFICIENCY
Seated in makeshift stools and sawn-off chairs, Asian mechanics work in a cluttered environment. With tool benches often separate from service areas, the average mechanic makes multiple trips between the two areas, sometimes losing tools in between, making work a tiring and inefficient process.

- Saves time and space
- Prevents oil spillages with non-spill mechanism
- Increases Shell's brand visibility by owning floor space in workshops
- Up to 10x more fill capacity

PROTOTYPING WIP USING 3D PRINTER
The prototyping stage posed alot of challenges compared to the rest of the project as the contruct itself is a lot more complicated.
Turn tray upside down to
empty it.
When placed flat for the next
oil change, the used oil from the previous change will remain trapped in the last chamber.
When placed upright, used oil flows downward to the bottom-most chamber.
Used oil will spillover to the next chamber when the first chamber is full.
Drain used oil into tray.
Inspired from the fuel tanks of a F1 car, the chamber became the basis of the non-spill tray interior, keeping the oil in the chamber itself.
HOW IT WORKS
Further clutthers the workshops and makes oil changes inefficient.
While its repurposed function
is innovative, it presents the danger of oil spillages.
In Asia, most bike mechanics
cut empty packs into halves
and turn it into oil change trays.

HOW IT WORKS

SOLAR PARASOL
SIGNAGE
A mutifunctional Solar Parasol Signage that provides
shade for mechanics during business hours.

By night, it folds back into a signage that illuminates
both the workshop name and the Shell logo.
BRANDING ROADBLOCK
Cluttered environment in workshop forecourt area
provide limited or zero branding visibility for Shell

Idea is to focus on the shape of the bottle so that it can serve as an ornamental decoration while bringing out the freshness of the design. This has to blend the theme of the hotel seamlessly. The logo has many angular protrusions that has a jewel like quality to it were used as an inspiration.
